Here is an update on what my balcony looks like. Considering it’s not been very sunny and below 20 degrees Celsius so far everything is doing great, except for the cucumber, who are tiny still. @plants #balconygardening #vegetablegardening #homegrown

My creative cup has pretty empty of late. Despite the weather bringing happy faces to my garden, I've got a bit of ennui.
I'm doing what I can to push through with at least one kind of creative expression while my manuscript languishes. So here's some more flowers.

A floral arrangement of bright yellows and oranges on a dark blue background. The arrangement sits on two vintage books on a pedestal, their spines turned away so the page edges face the camera, with a black cloth draped over the pedestal. On the right corner of the books a pair of small vintage shears lean. Orange tulips bend gently over the arrangement vessel's sides, matching orange-cupped daffodils spread through a collection of pale cream and standard yellow blooms. The arrangement is loosely wedge-shaped, with the largest part in a high rounded curve at the upper right, narrowing to the small cluster of flowers in the lower left.

    Another hidden gem while searching for a planting reference from last year's growing season.

    Who can resist optimism for the season to come when they find little delights like these?

    Definitely not me!



    A shallow focus horizonal garden scene at close to ground-level, full of lush greens, pinks, yellows, and peachy creams. On the left side of the image two pale pinky cream roses sit in a jar of water on the inside edge of a terracotta pot, just visible through foreground foliage. Streaky fuchsia and while cosmos and deep yellow rudbeckia spill out to the right of the roses, with a spray of sharp leaved gladiolus shoots directly behind the jar arrangement. In the foreground deep pink cupcake shaped coneflowers create four blurs in the lower left of the image. Right of center, two large yellow rudbeckia lead the eye to the far right of the frame, to a tall spike of pale peachy pink foxglove. In the upper background various daubs of apricot colors from Summer Berries yarrow and reddish orange gaillardia finish out a colorful vignette.

    While searching for a certain view of the garden last year for a future planting planning reference I found these photos instead... which I have 0 recollection of.
    They make my heart happy anyways. Like finding little reminders of sunshine to come.



    A shallow focus horizonal garden scene just above ground-level, looking into a lush and bright collection of pale blushes and yellows framing the bottom right quarter of the image while a spray of green and white frames the top left. In focus to the left third of the image a tall spike of foxgloves stands proudly, flanked by pale blue larkspur budded up and unbloomed and also by deep yellow rudbeckia on either side. In the far background out of focus purple coneflower compliments the darker pinks deep in the foxglove's bells.
