Hole repairs with three different patterns of embroidery, all with spiky borders in colourful thread. The first has a cross in the centre, the second looks like a spiky multicoloured caterpillar, & the third is decorated with chevrons. The caption explains that these are all from one psalter, Engelberg, Stiftsbibliothek, Cod. 61, folios 59v, 64r, 69r; photos by Christine Sciacca.

The great 2024 has turned up this. It’s a washable colouring in map thingy. I’m very tempted to turn it into a small quilt. Maybe with flags around the outside as a border? Could maybe colour in the critters with embroidery? 🤔

Nearly half way I guess. Kind of. Maybe…

And thinking about how I’m going to finish it off. I would like to have it as a centre, but do I need to match the fabric weight for the border to the weight of the map? It’s a fairly heavy cotton. Not sure the quilt idea will work though. 😬
