Nina Burleigh looks at how, in the Trump era, just as we think the out and proud ugliness of some Americans that Trump unleashes has reached its nadir, another low is coming, until now the Republican governor of South Dakota has proudly, defiantly bragged about shooting a 14-month-old puppy and a goat.
To prove her fake frontier woman bona fides…. There is no low too low for some of us now.

She believes telling MAGA voters that she’s willing to cruelly shoot a dog to death will make them support her more. And the most alarming part is that she’s right."
John Pavlovitz rightly compares the (selective) outrage many Republicans are now expressing at Kristi Noem's braggadocious story about shooting a dog and a goat with the meh, thoughts-and-prayers response of these same folks to yet another school shooting.
"The cognitive dissonance required to rightly rail against the assassination of a puppy, while simultaneously ignoring or explaining away the nearly daily mass shootings of mothers, spouses, brothers, children, and best friends here is a sick marvel to behold."
You know how for years Republicans have been accusing Democrats of being cold-blooded killers, killing living, breathing sentient zygotes in test tubes, killing babies and drinking their blood, and so on?
And when someone is crazy enough to believe those stories and drives to a D.C. pizza parlor with a gun, to see the basement where the baby killing is said to be taking place, the place doesn't even have a basement?
Well, while those lies were being told, turns out that the Republicans telling them actually WERE spilling blood — as if the very thing they accuse someone else of is what they are doing.
Take Kristi Noem, who's said to be on Trump's VP list, and who now reveals she shot a 14-month-old puppy and with her blood thirst not sated by that cruel action, she turned her gun to a goat after that.
