The Yashica is all metal, all photographic seriousness, a close copy of the Rolleiflex Automat. The lenses are focused by moving the complete front, to maximise the image quality.
The Lubitel (russ. for amateur) is all plastic. Okay, the lenses are glass, but uncoated. Only the front elements focus, synchronised by simple gears.
Peregrinations, my new solo cassette, will be officially "out" tonight at midnight (GMT-8), to coincide with #BandcampFriday.
I'm excited to finally bring this music to the world. This was planned as a quick release around the time of my birthday in February. Turns out I don't move that quickly, and neither does the rest of the world. But the tapes should be back from duplication this week, and I will be printing the artwork tomorrow on the #Risograph. Exciting! Meanwhile, the digital album will be available immediately. Enjoy!
J-cards for the new cassette are printed up, thanks to my partner, The brilliant Ever Pallas. We split the edition of 100 up into three color schemes, just for fun. Despite some setbacks, this is all coming together nicely.
Among my hobbies, probably the weirdest one is circular slide rules. I was introduced to them 22 years ago when I started flying lessons, and have since branched out from the E6B to non-aviation circular rules. I like them because
