Despite what the political class wants you to believe, “political violence” is as American as apple pie. The US global empire was built on political violence, or the threat of it, most especially after the Second World War. Just ask the people of Vietnam, Serbia, Latin America, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Ukraine and Gaza.
The difference now is that Washington’s imperial grip is all too clearly weakening"
People working in the #USEmpire must be so scared of expressing their views about @palestine . From all I read, anyone unwilling to tuck their tails exposes themselves to discrimination in the least; this includes Presidents! And the #scotus seems to behave like a revengeful goon. In such an atmosphere, it is incredible how the #studentprotests were able to face brutal police assaults!
Clearly, the World won't be free as long as the #Workerunions in the West are not Free. I wish them more power
Chris Hedges on Matt Kennard's book The Racket.
"He exposes the hidden machinery of empire. He details its brutality, mendacity, cruelty and its dangerous self-delusions"
"In the late stage of empire...They make decisions based not on reality, but on their distorted visions of reality, one coloured by their own propaganda"
"They replace diplomacy, multilateralism and politics with unilateral threats and the blunt instrument of war"
