Always wanted to say this:
PRINT DROP! 😆
I've just added four new reproductions in my online shop. https://www.dailypaintworks.com/artists/tamami-tokutake-9779/pages/Prints
Huge thanks to Nevada Fine Arts. So lucky to have a local art supply store that offers professional framing and reproduction.
These prints will also be available at Artists' Co-op Gallery of Reno, for the local folks. #MastoArt#pastelartist#RenoNevada
Last week's plein air piece at the historic Virginia City Cemetery in Nevada. The tall tower in the background is the gravestone of Captain Storey, for whom the Storey County, NV, was named after. #MastoArt#pastelartist#pleinair
It's a day to finish up the plein air pieces I've done for the last week. This one is from last Sunday. Left is after today's in-studio work. Right is all en plein air. #WIPWednesday#MastoArt#pastelartist#pleinair
My plein air season officially starts tomorrow! I refilled my pastel box tonight. I’m going to have to dig up the photo of my box from last year. I think this year’s palette is quite a bit lighter. Need more blues! #MastoArt#pastelartist
I finally found two paintings that's good enough, so it's time for #PaintingGiveaway ! Yes, as promised, I'm giving away two original pastel paintings to two people since I didn't do one in April. Please read the entire thread.
To enter, hit ⭐ on the following toots with paintings. You must be following me to be eligible (it’s not a follower-collecting effort, but wouldn’t you be following me if you wanted to have my painting?) You can hit ⭐ on both paintings. #MastoArt#pastelartist 🧵
Spring has arrived. Pink/lavender phlox in Drostkar Park in Reno
This is not framed, but is matted in white mat that is 11 x 14 in. You can pop it into the frame of that size, if you like. #MastoArt#pastelartist#PaintingGiveaway 🧵
A quick one, just for fun, no sketches, no studies. Sometimes you need a spontaneity.
This is not framed. Note that pastel paintings do need to be framed under glass to protect the surface.
A quick one, just for fun, no sketches, no studies. Sometimes you need a spontaneity. This is based on a crappy phone photo of a hospital waiting room video aimed to sooth/relax you, which, honestly I enjoyed watching.
How did this happen? It's May. Already May. I don't really know, but it's May.
And I know that I didn't do the #PaintingGiveaway for the month of April. Forgive me, as we had one heck of a month... It's related to husband's health.
Fear not, I am going to be selecting two pieces to giveaway soon. Stay tuned, and watch for the hashtag!
Done, and I'm unusually happy about my work for a change. I love this painting because I feel the sun, just warming up, and the breeze. I remember what I was feeling just then.
"Eureka, NV"
pastel on UART paper (mounted) - 13x13 in
I'm hosting a pastel show titled "The Beautiful World of Pastel" for the month of May at our co-op gallery in Reno, NV. If you are local, please stop by! We have several locally and nationally known artists participating. It will be GREAT. #MastoArt#pastelartist
Driving on I-80 into Utah mid March; some snow still on the ground, and the far mountains are covered with snow. Cold, cold wind, my eyes water, but I'm trying to find a bright spot in this landscape. #MastoArt#pastelartist
These four are headed to the gallery tomorrow for the abstract show, and I'm secretly hoping that they won't sell. I love them. #MastoArt#pastelartist#abstract
My pastel work titled 'Green Ginkgo Leaves in the Sunlight' has placed in second in the Leaves and Foliage contest at Fine Art America. I'm planning to exhibit the original of this piece at an event next month. I was really pleased with the depiction of light. Prints and greeting cards may be purchased at the links listed in my profile. #MastoArt#ArtistsOnMastodon#nature#art#PastelArtist
