    This is really worrying. There's a bill in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, that has a good chance of passing due to GOP majority, that would fine people $1,000 for wearing a mask. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/politics/long-island-bill-jail-time-fines-face-masks-nassau-county/5588110/

    It sounds like Nassau County legislators could be convening as early as Monday to move their mask ban bill (that would fine $1,000 for wearing a mask) forward.

    Due to the fireworks, New York City's air quality is the worst in the world tonight.

    When AQI is low, it's a good idea to wear a mask to protect your health.

    But this could soon be a crime, as one of the mask ban bills prohibits masks at "lawful assemblies."

    @jamaalbowmanny said he is against a mask ban, and Long COVID is an under-discussed issue.

    @latimerforny said he would not restrict mask wearing himself, but would support the Governor's decision.
