At a protest in Haifa against the war.
The police initially canceled the demonstration, only after a Supreme Court intervention it was approved, but at noon instead of the evening and limited to 700 participants.
We were crammed in a small area with more than a hundred police officers around us. Didn’t feel like they were there to protect us.
Michal Brody-Bareket is a math professor and a long-time anti occupation activist. After October 7th her son was sent to fight in Gaza. On the sixth day of the war Michal founded “The Mothers’ Cry” - an anti-war movement led by mothers of soldiers, calling to pull the ground troops out of Gaza, negotiate a hostage release deal and stop the war.
The case of Palestine’s longest-serving prisoner exposes Israel’s brutal abuse of Palestinian detainees
The brutal torture and abuse Nael Barghouti has faced since October 7 mirrors the situation of all Palestinian detainees, and his case shows that Israel will re-arrest Palestinians it releases in any potential prisoner swap, without charge or trial.
So, following the announcement that Belgium will not cease funding #UNRWA in the midst of the famine (and rightly so), the Ethnostate of Zion™ reacted in the only way they apparently can -- by shelling their facilities, acting on the same behalf as de jure embassies.
If they wanted to, the state of Belgium could invoke Article 5 of NATO, summoning other member states to enter defensive war against #Israel. They obviously won't do that, but I'd like you to see the pattern.
Everything Israel is good at in the last months, maybe forever -- is killing and bombing shit. And I find it disgusting we allow that.
And I seriously hope Israeli leaders will be brought to proper justice and not blown away by drone strikes, as they do to their victims.
Everyone would benefit from that, seeing the shit they pull out. Murdering civilians, sneaking into hospitals to shoot incapacitated and comatosed targets, shooting their allies out of spite. This madness has to end.
#Gaza / Over 800 Officials in U.S. and Europe Sign Letter Protesting Israel Policies
[…] The document was signed by government employees in 12 nations and E.U. institutions. Signers say their leaders’ policies could be contributing to war crimes in Gaza.
“Our governments’ current policies weaken their moral standing and undermine their ability to stand up for freedom, justice and human rights globally,” the letter says, according to a copy obtained Thursday by The New York Times. It adds that “there is a plausible risk that our governments’ policies are contributing to grave violations of international humanitarian law, war crimes and even ethnic cleansing or genocide.”
[…] The document does not include the names of signers because they fear reprisal
