This is the northern rose window from Notre-Dame de Paris. I was there not that long before the fire. Amazingly, it seems as though all the stained glass in this photo actually survived the conflagration. This window was first made in about 1250, and most of the original glass is still in place.

She faces left and holds out a large square translucent clock with 1960s curvy red numbers and matching hands. It shows a time of 8:30. It rests at a slight angle on a pointy-based, round-topped platform over a large gold eyelet embedded in an angled block of 1950s cream-colored flooring with flecks of pink, green, beige, and brown. The woman holds a small white iris in her left hand. There’s a faded, blurred strip of white rail fence and a garden with white flowers in the background. Trim: six tiny green jewel-like glass circles atop the clock and as buttons on the woman’s belted dress.

    Tall rectangle with smudgy pastel-colored wavy thick lines and brushy textures in white, gray, green, blue, and peach to form a figure seen from the thighs up. They have broad, sharp shoulders and a thick waist with wide hips. They wear a peaked green elfin cap over a few curls of auburn hair, green shirt, and dark gray vest. Their skirt or trousers are blue. They look down and right as their left hand pours something peach-pink from a wide necked jar towards the unseen ground. Their right hand points down and left. There’s a piece of a distant antique store interior photo on either side of them with faint imagery of colored glass ware crowded onto shelves. Six small or medium floating glass mushrooms in muted colors float in the air around the figure.Trim: two other hands reaching towards the figure, and two large, balloonish kids' heads floating at left and looking away from the figure.

    Horizontal rectangular canvas in toothy wide horizontal bands of orange and yellow, with a bit of green ad copy at the center. A large head made from two halves of different 1970s TV dinners are stuck together and overlaid with a triangular and arced set of lines like an hourglass. Some pieces of the dinners are cut and inlaid into this. Three copies each of tiny brown jar lids, red coils from a stove, and an old round glass paperweight with a white base and a coiled green snake inside. They are arranged over the dinner to suggest one or more big-eyed cartoon faces.

    “Three Wishes" (A study in chronic procrastination. :P )

    Tall rectangle with rough stone background in soft gray. Overlaid with two segments of tiled neon-blue rectangular pattern for “water.” Two different sized panels of oak interlace with the blue pattern. One has a doorway cut out at upper right to show a 1950s couple looking left towards a young merman in the lower left foreground. His upper body is “Study of a Seated Youth” by 17th Century artist Pietro Da Cortona. Trim: An inverted blue vase with a fluted edge and gold rim, two different size white marble panels, each with a disc cut out and moved, three fish, and three small, bright-colored glass spheres.
