Our new foster dog had a bad day. You see, she spent her entire four years of life in a cage, making puppies for some greedy assholes in Missouri. She's free now but is still afraid of humans. She's also very uncomfortable because they didn't bother grooming her regularly. All that thick, matted fur not only hurts but it means that poop gets stuck in difficult places when she has accidents like today. I'm afraid I didn't help her opinion of humans when I gave her a bath this afternoon. Luckily, she will get a proper, professional grooming tomorrow.
Her grooming today revealed a number of sores in various states of healing. This poor girl was abused worse than we feared. She's WAY more comfortable now and she looks GORGEOUS!
Sometimes we let our neighbor's dog into our house. They appreciate it, and he plays with me. Today, I didn't let him in, yet he's playing outside with the slipper I had this morning. Something tells me that the five minutes I left the door open to take some things out were enough for the "theft." #DogsOfMastodon
Friends, you have no idea how happy this picture makes me. The two nearest #dogs in this picture are our foster dog and our new #puppy. The foster dog did not like the new puppy when we brought her home a week ago so we've had to keep them separated. Today, they're getting along. Finally some family tranquility.
Some dogs earn the affectionate title of โgood boyโ for obeying their ownersโ commands to sit or fetch. Others earn it by saving their neighborhoods from grappling with a potentially explosive #Gas#Leak days before #Christmas. #DogsOfMastodon
