Found a friend outside our door. It is gorgeous!

I think it’s a white ermine (Spilosoma lubricipedum) but not 100% sure.

I found a Blue Ghost!!! These little tiny fireflies emit a bluegreen glow for up to a minute solid. Theyre super cool and Im excited to have found some at our place. I saw some last week during the Bat Blitz so I knew they were coming out!! BUCKET LIST SPECIES YAYYYY

The firefly is a bit easier to see on this leaf. I am holding the leaf so you can see my thumbnail and the lower right for scale. The firefly is perched in about the middle of frame. These things are super tiny about 4 to 6 mm long. They are not like the classic fireflies maybe used to catching, but they’re super cool.

    Kleiner Freund in meinem Garten 🐞

    Ein Marienkäfer sitzt auf dem Blatt eines Farns. Der Käfer ist im Bildmittelpunkt und ist mit seinem Kopf zur betrachtenden Person ausgerichtet. In der linken Bildhälfte ist verschwommen das noch nicht ganz ausgerollten Ende des Farnblattes zu sehen. Die Konturen des Blattes heben sich um den Marienkäfer herum scharf vom verschwommen Hintergrund ab. Das Bild wird von frischen, hellen Grüntönen dominierten, vor denen der rote Käfer deutlich hervor sticht.
