Currently keeping me aural company while I work (I woke up, couldn't go back to sleep and decided to dive back into the blasted article), Noveller's Fantastic Planet (2015)
I've updated Growing Fins with a handful of playlists ranging from Ambient/Electronica to classical/new music (featuring @womencomposers ) plus some indie darlings new and old.
I'm going to have a running thread of music I buy. A record (ahem) for me really. Because I lack discipline in actually giving music enough time and this might help. If someone else discovers a new artist then great. Mute #KeefsNewTunes if it's unwelcome.
In contrast this (name your price, all money to cancer charity) album, Linea naturalis by Helen Anahita Wilson is completely absorbing as is the story behind it. The artist has taken bioelectrical readings from plants in the Chelsea Physic Garden, then mapped them to different instruments and created this soothing, calming ambience masterpiece. Highly recommended. #AmbientMusic#ElectronicMusic#KeefsNewTunes
Synth Waltzes and Accordion Laments by Yara Asmar is an album which...well the title gives a hint. Sound washes around. Feels like visiting a dream. Home recorded in Beirut where she lived with her puppets and cats Mushroom and Feglé. #AmbientMusic#ContemporaryClassical#KeefsNewTunes
