Every day America shows how it is weaker than China.

FunkPhenomenon ,

China sees an opportunity for easy political points on the world stage... but they're not a paragon of human rights or anything

Pot ,

The USA, Israel et al aren't a paragon of human rights, so I'm not sure what your point is. China is right here, maybe you are just trying to lower the value of its message?

brain_in_a_box ,

Lol, funny how liberals' obsession with "whataboutism" completely evaporates whenever China makes a completely valid criticism of the West.

"Easy political points on the world stage" good God, spare us the projection.

Crikeste ,

God fucking god. Even if China were doing this just to posture, AMERICA IS ACTIVELY AIDING A GENOCIDE.
Stop pretending China is worse than America, it isn’t and you’re a propagandized dumb fuck idiot.

invno1 ,

And China is actively committing genocide currently against the Uyghurs. There is a difference.

The “Uyghur genocide” disinformation campaign has already been debunked several times over, but go on, while America is providing material support for a real one in Palestine as we speak, and Guantanamo Bay and other black sites are still in operation.

.

The blueprint of regime change operations

We see here for example the evolution of public opinion in regards to China. In 2019, the ‘Uyghur genocide’ was broken by the media (Buzzfeed, of all outlets). In this story, we saw the machine I described up until now move in real time. Suddenly, newspapers, TV, websites were all flooded with stories about the ‘genocide’, all day, every day. People whom we’d never heard of before were brought in as experts — Adrian Zenz, to name just one; a man who does not even speak a word of Chinese.

Organizations were suddenly becoming very active and important. The World Uyghur Congress, a very serious-sounding NGO, is actually an NED Front operating out of Germany […]. From their official website, they declare themselves to be the sole legitimate representative of all Uyghurs — presumably not having asked Uyghurs in Xinjiang what they thought about that.

The WUC also has ties to the Grey Wolves, a fascist paramilitary group in Turkey, through the father of their founder, Isa Yusuf Alptekin.

Documents came out from NGOs to further legitimize the media reporting. This is how a report from the very professional-sounding China Human Rights Defenders (CHRD) came to exist. They claimed ‘up to 1.3 million’ Uyghurs were imprisoned in camps. What they didn’t say was how they got this number: they interviewed a total of 10 people from rural Xinjiang and asked them to estimate how many people might have been taken away. They then extrapolated the guesstimates they got and arrived at the 1.3 million figure.

Sanctions were enacted against China — Xinjiang cotton for example had trouble finding buyers after Western companies were pressured into boycotting it. Instead of helping fight against the purported genocide, this act actually made life more difficult for the people of Xinjiang who depend on this trade for their livelihood (as we all do depend on our skills to make a livelihood).

Any attempt China made to defend itself was met with more suspicion. They invited a UN delegation which was blocked by the US. The delegation eventually made it there, but three years later. The Arab League also visited Xinjiang and actually commended China on their policies — aimed at reducing terrorism through education and social integration, not through bombing like we tend to do in the West.

China should take up UNRWA funding

N0body ,

Hoping this is part of a larger diplomatic strategy to secure a ceasefire. If Israel actually attacks Rafah, the civilian death toll will be catastrophic, and it will turn allies into enemies.

This is the line that must not be crossed. The civilians retreated to this last point. Attacking it is genocide.

This like trying to draw a line over your shoes while standing on the edge of a cliff ..... move the line or yourself any further and you're free falling.

Sunforged ,

If Israel actually attacks Rafah, the civilian death toll will be catastrophic, and it will turn allies into enemies.

That's already happened while Americans were watching the superbowl, at the same time congress approved another 14.1 billion dollar package to Israel. That's in addition to 14.5 billion dollars that was sent since October 2023 in addition to the 3.8 billion dollars the U.S. sends every year.

US has no interest in a ceasefire, it's too easy to launder public money to weapons manufacturers.

Pot ,

If Israel actually attacks Rafah

Do I have news for you... It's been happening for a while.

filister ,

While

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday he was "committed to continuing the war until we achieve all of its goals" and no pressure could change it.

Effectively saying fuck you all, I will do what I want.

negativeyoda ,

When you have the USA in your back pocket they let you do it. You can do anything

PhobosAnomaly ,

Well, they've got a point.

I'm surprised they didn't put the boot in to the UK's shameful abstention too.

Disgraceful.
