I'm convinced that him hinting he might drop out of the race was a small slip of him saying what he actually wants to do, deep down he's just a tired,crazy old fuck. Then his handlers got in there and grabbed the reigns again and you see him do a 180 and say he's absolutely not dropping from the race.
There is a part of me that almost feels bad for him, as this is basically boiling down to elder abuse. I think it's almost certain he's going to have to drop out at this point. The debate performance was terrible, but what's more notable is the slew of negative coverage in liberal media immediately after. They didn't even try to play it off like they usually do this time, which suggests that the push to remove him has already been brewing behind the scenes. The debate was likely his last chance to show that he's actually capable of running.

To answer your question, because there is enough out there that is actually worth criticising and pointing out, we don't also need to make up things that aren't true. Lying about this one only makes the rest of the actual mush brained word salad less impactful.
The right has the ability to le and distort the truth and that's fine for them, but on the left we have no need for that. We can tell the truth about what's going on and it supports our position.
