I’m presuming this guy lashed out from despair because of his surroundings, possibly economic pressures that Sunak and the Tory ghouls continue to make worse for everyone.
In the US people like that use guns, because they’re so easily accessible. Elsewhere people use other weapons, notably a sword in this case. Banning the weapon is unlikely to stop the next rando attack.
Opportunities like subsidized state mental health services and meeting someone’s basic human needs goes a long way in stopping someone from despairing so much that they attack randos on the street.
