As far as tea drinking goes, I'm finding that after years of drinking tea out of a borosilicate glass cup when not doing it gongfu style, it generally doesn't taste as good as drinking it out of this classic ceramic mug. Who knew? Not me.

I think that contact with metal is an important part of my tea experience.

Whether that means putting a spoon in the cup when I make bagged tea, or the presence of the steel mesh strainer when I make loose leaf.

Superstition? Perhaps

Tinfoil hat thinking? Perhaps.

But I am always wondering why one cup can be perfect, and the next day the perfection doesn't happen.

Searching for that x factor.

@tor_haxson @tea Hmmm, lemme ask...do you weigh your loose leaf before steeping it or do you eye it?

@dave_heumann @tea

I eyeball it.

@tor_haxson @tea As far as that x factor, that could be part of it, as well as water volume, water temp, and length of time steeped. Those are the most significant variables, more than the type of brewing vessel, I'd think.
