@Duke64@tea@ellestad Oh whew, so it's not just me. How did you break it, if I may ask?
I'm on my third kyūsu since October or so. The first one broke when I poured boiling water too quickly after rinsing it with tap water. On the second one, I had one of those wire brushes that I use to clean the spout, and I cleaned it a bit too vigorously and broke the sieve. Now my third one seems to be identical to yours, did you also get it from Tee Kontor Kiel?
@vivia@Duke64@tea@ellestad i think there should be a dating site which only uses people's pet photos. The attractiveness of someone's pet is certainly a big factor in my level of interest in them
@Duke64 I can tell you that most pottery repair is intended for decorative rather than practical use. Super glue absolutely does not work in hot/wet conditions of tea brewing. Some epoxies (JB Weld and such) may work but are usually not intended to be food safe. Kintsugi is very complicated. @tea
@ellestad@Duke64@tea I've had good luck with sugru (moldable silicone). It's not officially approved to be food safe, but they're working on getting approval. It's not toxic and inert once cured.
@Duke64@ellestad@tea yup that's the stuff, I always have a few packets in the fridge. I batch up stuff that needs repairing cause you can do a bunch with one pack. Cables that are fraying, uncomfortable handles, etc. Takes a bit of practice to make it look nice without too many fingerprints.
