She was also, presumably, chosen to round out his ticket in the gender and age departments.
Shanahan, the source said, is someone who has had “the whole deck stacked against her” and has ascended to become “a living embodiment of this American dream that is evaporating for so many people.”

Why would I care that she is a Millennial who "made it"? She's a patent attorney. How is she going to help me and people like me at all? She likes "AI", the "environment", and has an "inquisitive mind"?
Millennials are not that stupid. I don't think they care if someone "like them" is elected, unless that person has good ideas. It's like when Republicans run one of the few brown skinned people they have. Most non-white people have been lied to for decades. They're not going to be tricked that easily.
Fucking Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell were two of the most qualified black Republicans and they couldn't move the needle for them.
