World Court hearing on legality of Israeli occupation ends following week of testimony
Over 50 nations presented testimony to the ICJ on the legality of the Israeli occupation, with the majority offering stirring arguments for Israeli accountability and justice for the Palestinians. An Advisory Opinion is expected sometime this summer.
@MarianneTiel@mondoweiss@palestine@israel
I watched some of them and got the impression that the Western countries (US, UK, France, colonist thieves countries) said to the ICJ, in short, "look the other way", while the South (Colombia, Namibia, South Africa, former colonized countries) said to the ICJ "apply the law".
Would you agree?
@Alexandrad1@mondoweiss@palestine@israel Maybe there is a link with colonisation. Not all the western countries did. US and some others did (my country NL too). By saying that a verdict of the #ICJ would have negative influence on the negotiations. Grrr... but far most of the countries pleed for the rights of Palestina. That makes me hopefull.
