An Israeli reserve soldier (in the video) is rejecting the authority of Defense Minister and Chief of Staff Gallant, stating they will only take orders from Prime Minister Netanyahu, as he calls on 100,000 reserve soldiers to disobey orders and remain deployed until "victory."
Likewise, he accuses Gallant of not being able to "win the war" and says they want to show what a real "military coup" and "how real Jews win".
#Ynet is reporting that in similar ideological events that took place in the first months of the war, the IDF preferred to avoid investigations, including recently, and settled for internal handling within the units themselves, for fear of criticism and pressure from the right and protest within the army. In most cases, these involved reserve soldiers who sprayed similar political messages in graffiti throughout the occupied Gaza Strip.
Several weeks ago, when Gallant made a solo trip to the US, I hypothesized that this could lead to a civil war. My thinking was that the Americans were grooming him as a replacement for Netanyahu.
