Scottish Water dumps sewage on doorsteps of party leaders for 18,000 hours ( inews.co.uk )

Sewage was discharged for 18,674 hours – or 778 days – on Scottish political party leaders’ own doorsteps, i has found.

In total, there were 1,440 spills in rivers, lochs and coasts in the leaders’ constituency areas, according to new analysis of Scottish Water data.

i is urging political parties to get behind its manifesto to Save Britain’s Rivers, amid growing public anger over the amount of sewage dumped in the UK’s waterways.

They need to move on from leaders' figurative doorsteps and focus on emptying sewage onto their literal doorsteps.

That might hurry things along a little.

Unfortunately I don't think it was done deliberately in protest, I think it's just more incompetence and greed from the water services.
I read the title that way as well but the article is talking about the amount of spillages theyve had into the rivers
