/ What starvation?

While Israeli news outlet might not be officially state-owned, it functions in a manner akin to a government mouthpiece on the issue of Gaza and the alleged starvation.

The mix of occasional criticism of with a constant flow of unchallenged IDF spokesperson statements passed off as news indicates Ynet likely lacks true independence and objectivity, at least when it comes to this particular conflict. A truly objective media outlet would strive to incorporate all credible perspectives, even those contradicting the government's stance - something Ynet failed to do in its reporting on the war in Gaza, at least.

Take for example this astonishing report, titled "Starvation in Gaza?", claiming there's no humanitarian crisis in Gaza, let alone Israel being the cause of it.

https://www.ynet.co.il/news/article/sys5qltaa

"Israel determines there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza."

"Israel is urging countries and organizations to send additional aid and is working with its partners to enable new humanitarian initiatives."

And so on... No caveats or acknowledgement of contradictory evidence. The article relies solely on data and claims from Israeli government/military sources like COGAT (Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories), without including perspectives from credible international aid groups working on the ground in Gaza.

It dismisses widespread reports of starvation from agencies and human rights groups as essentially fabrications or lies, without directly addressing their evidence.

Its portrayal of there being no humanitarian crisis in Gaza directly contradicts firsthand accounts from other credible sources describing severe hunger and deprivation.

The tone and language used seems more like Israeli government messaging than objective journalism analyzing events from multiple angles.

Then take this article, published in , written by Dr. Michal Paldon, titled "Deliberate starvation is a war crime". Dr. Paldon essentially accuses Israel of being directly responsible for a "humanitarian catastrophe" and deliberate starvation of civilians in Gaza, which she states is a war crime.

Dr. Paldon argues that the harsh conditions like lack of food, water, electricity and medical care are a direct result of Israel's actions and blockade during the war. She cites reports of half the Gaza population suffering from severe or extreme hunger, 90% sometimes going an entire day without food, and laying direct blame on Israel for what she calls the "inconceivable human catastrophe" unfolding in Gaza due to deliberate policies.
