@humanhorseshoes @numismatics @histodons I try to post a range of things, hopefully something else is more your style! Let's see what I can offer...

Technology, I've got space: https://coinofnote.com/2024-australia-1-pnc-out-of-this-world/

World, I have... well everything is "world" pretty much.

I don't have Ferrari or Rally, but I do have a check from the Napier car company: https://coinofnote.com/d-napier-son-check/

Video Games, I've got an early slot machine token: https://coinofnote.com/bussoz-distributeurs-automatiques/

Or Aladdin's Castle arcade: https://coinofnote.com/aladdins-castle-token/

Rectangle brass check with cut corners and hole in left side (as made). D. NAPIER & SON above and ACTON VALE below. The number 1712 has been punched in the centre

@CoinOfNote @numismatics @histodons It's fine but communism never worked and belongs in the past

@humanhorseshoes @numismatics @histodons Indeed, to be clear, I wasn't advocating communism - rather giving context for the coin. It is important to know at least a little of the social situation in East Germany in 1950 in order to understand the time the coin came from and the people who might have used it. (and I don't claim to be a WWII / Cold War history professor - I enjoy learning about coins myself, as they all do invariably have fascinating stories & I try to share some of that)

@CoinOfNote @numismatics @histodons This is perfectly fine and don't base what you do or say based on a random person here like me

CoinOfNote OP ,
@CoinOfNote@historians.social avatar

@humanhorseshoes @numismatics @histodons Of course - Just as long as my posts DO come across as informative and "here is some history around this particular piece" rather than "The ideology in this country at this time was perfect, we should all do that!" (I'm not even sure what that would say about me with the ecclectic mix of pieces I post!)
