ActivityPub has remained the dominant Fediverse protocol over the past few years. In that time, many bright ideas have come on how to improve the spec. Here's where those efforts are today.

Following the other thread (550 upvotes and 366 comments at the moment: https://lemmy.world/post/16211417), one of the complaints that people had what that some communities only exist on lemmy.ml and don't have alternatives on other instances....

It not only have problems with CSEM (the real-life stuff), but there are now bots spamming it and Twitter made reporting it a chore....

I made a blog post on my biggest issue in Lemmy and the proposed solutions for it. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Bridgy Fed made a splash earlier this week by announcing its latest progress in connecting the Fediverse to Bluesky and Nostr. Sadly, not everyone was welcoming.

I just saw, that fedidb now has data for the biggest fediverse accounts, so I did a little plotting with it. After singing up for Tumblr and being sad that they're not yet (and might never) federate with Activitypub I started digging around fedidb.org and found out about micro.blog....

Seems to have fixed some of the federation issues (some instances still experience some, but that probably needs to be investigated by the local admins)
