@weirdwriter @bookstodon I can see a place for A.I. readers to create audiobooks of things that are never going to have a proper one made of them. Old public domain stuff say. Primarily to make that material accessible to more people. But they should be sold way more cheaply than audiobooks with human narrators, as the production costs are obviously much smaller, and if something is public domain there's nobody to pay royalties to.
