Hey @bookstodon Comics/Graphic Novel/Manga lovers, Here are some reads of late that might interest you:

The Joy of Quitting, Keiler Roberts (Bipolar, Anxiety, Motherhood, Absurdity, Art)

Death Note, Tsugumi Ohba (Intriguing addictive thriller with an unusual premise)

Blue in Green, Ram V, (Interrogation of loss and existential identity, viewed through the prism of music)

Night Fever, Ed Brubaker (Stylish noir, forcing a man to confront who he is, and whether he truly craves a more exciting life)

Barely Functional Adult: It'll All Make Sense Eventually, Meichi Ng (Witty, touching, resonant, as funny as it is painfully insightful)

This one was super cute. I also liked the unusual formatting. Some pictures with longer form writing, which worked for this book.

@softerspace @bookstodon Yes, I like that, too. I'm never sure what to call those graphic novels which veer closer to "illustrated book." My library, for instance, shelves Allie Brosh in nonfiction, instead of in the graphic novel section. I think Matt Bors is another example of this.

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon I gotta look those two up then if they are similar. 👀

@softerspace @bookstodon Allie Brosh is a treasure. Hyperbole and a Half was so good. I love Matt Bors, too, though he is completely different, more political and activist-oriented.

@kimlockhartga @softerspace @bookstodon The cake on the fridge and the dog in the bathtub, so extreme and relatable
