What makes you think the cable is failing?

My laptop will periodically not boot into the system and only show the BIOS. To test things out I opened up the laptop and disc/reconnected the ssd. It booted up fine after that which makes me think it's the cable but certainly it could be an issue with the ssd itself; however, it checked fine with gparted (on ubuntu) and it has had rather light use.

The connector to the drive is, but the other side that connects to the board may or may not be a standard connector, you'll have to post a pic of the cable in question
