There are so many things I am enjoying about Nicola Griffith’s , and tops among them is the role that in its broadest sense—reading the landscape, the movement of birds and mammals, the seasonality of plants—plays in the story. That deep knowledge born of consistent observation and understanding of patterns is something I aspire to.

@ergative there's still a few of her books I haven't read--which means the enjoyment of first reading them is still ahead of me, wonderful--but in general I'm a big fan.
