"If we’re going to have a meaningful debate about AI that results in good policy and good products... I think it’s time to fight sci-fi fire with sci-fi fire. I think we need the Butlerian Jihad... In the deep lore behind the Dune universe, humans collectively decided to abandon and prohibit AI and even computation more broadly... In a way, this is another vision of 'AI from the movies'"

just realized i've had the mollywhite.net domain for over 10 years(!!)

related sneak peek into an upcoming piece: i firmly believe that if you're going to spend money on one thing online it should be a domain, particularly as online identity gets more fragmented. as platforms come and go, you can always find me there.

@molly0xfff One thing I learned from your website that I need to implement is your identity page! A central source of truth for your different accounts is great!

I have been slowly adding a list of friends' links from a trusted web sort of thing but that identity page is great

@parismarx I don't know, a new Star Wars controlled by the audience a la "Twitch Plays Pokemon" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitch_Plays_Pok%C3%A9mon) does sound like a new form of art.

Sounds awful for romantic comedies, period dramas, or most films, really.
