I need to refactor account deletion in @pixelfed

You'd think the huge warnings, after you have to re-enter your password, would make it clear

Yet, a significant amount of people come back, and want to re-use their old deleted account

@dansup It’s not just some cases, this is the case where you have to delete all my data (including backups), because I’m actively asking you to do that, and unless you have obligations to keep it this must be done ASAP.

Maybe you could just add a disclaimer and a link to the GDPR:

https://gdpr.eu/right-to-be-forgotten/

(It’s not like anyone would ever read that, it just makes it easy to point at it when people come back at you asking for their account)

@dansup I do this (hide ht behind new lines), but just to de-clutter things and separate them from the image description.

Usually there’s a huge number of ht but that’s because there’s a huge redundancy of ht, e.g. „urban, urbanphotography“. This would be great to prioritise ht.

Your solution is brilliant and should be default IMO. Thank you!

Another thing really great would be nested hashtags, e.g. photography/street, but I don’t know if that’s possible at all.
