I am greatly enjoying last night's massacre in the UK election, and I'm seeing a lot of people happy that notable evil bastards lost their seats.

But just sitting here thinking you just know these pricks are going to wind up in some high-paying board member gig that they're going to make more money than they ever made as a politician and that's criminal.

They should be forced on to benefits for two years.

My scooter has arrived. I know they'll never see this but I would like to publicly praise the amazing Amazon driver.

@mechangel ordered it and put in the delivery instructions that I am injured and disabled and to please give me extra time to get to the door. Building door was clearly open as first I know they're at my front door.

Not only did he knock and wait, when I asked him to he bought it into the apartment and put it where I wanted him to. (Which is mostly just inside the door.)

@vampiress I was going through a divorce and having my life turned upside down then so I kind of had my mind another things, but yeah, if you paid attention you didn't exactly have to be psychic...

The endless cycle of graph goes up is just not sustainable.

And then today I saw news that Microsoft has said they can't afford to run all the studios they just bought. 🙄

@vampiress Yeah. As that video said corporate buy out of your company is basically a dagger hanging over your head.

I have not bought a AAA mainstream game since Red Dead Redemption 2. And I have so many reasons to not buy from EA, Ubisoft and Microsoft that I very much doubt I ever will again.

Indie dev is awesome and I will still very happily support as many indie devs as I can. And do regularly. More creativity. More sustainable. More money going to the people that actually deserve it.

I'd buy the majority of my stuff on Steam purely for convenience on my Steam Deck. They're from various bundles and stuff I do own a heck of a lot of stuff on Itch.

@vampiress I'm using Heroic, but with some stuff from Itch you can just copy the folder over and add the executable to Steam, choose a version of Proton and away it goes. (Obviously native Linux stuff works just fine without the last bit.)

I even got a two decades old Microsoft golf game working on mine recently.

I rarely encounter stuff I can't get working.

@vampiress It is amazing. And generally if one version doesn't work, another will.

The Microsoft game was funny. It was crashing on WMA.DLL which is a proprietary Microsoft library that WINE does not have. Someone I was talking to on here who knows far more than me is deeply confused as to why it suddenly started working when I deleted the DLL. 😆

There's an Aurora cam running in Banff. It's still daylight there currently but hopefully once it gets dark it'll stay relatively clear and we'll see some action

I have both a portable oscilloscope AND that cheap Chinese 386 palmtop thing allegedly arriving today.

I had a weird brain-confusion moment on stream last week.

We were playing a game with supposed ravens, but they used crow noises.

I called that out, and a bunch of chat didn’t know the difference. So I searched up a bunch of videos of raven calls.

Not only did none of them sound like one another, NONE of them sounded like our local ravens!

I assume that ravens have regional dialects.
I then theorize that, because ravens are mimics, they’re all just impersonating the sounds mum & dad make.

    @vampiress What I find interesting from the trailer is no returning monsters that we can tell.

    I read a while ago that this was likely going to be a conscious decision with the new direction the show's taking, and it all looks very exciting.

    @vampiress I absolutely endorse sending a "fuck your $80 game" message to Ubisoft etc... in fact I strongly advocate never buying them, period.

    But if people are saying this over a $20 indie game, hell no.

    Indies are the entire reason I've not given up on current gaming. If all we had was Ubisoft, EA and Activision microtransaction riddled garbage ... shudder

    @vampiress I had a bunch of them in 2010 due to being very ill and every time I had one I felt like I was being fed into a Stargate. 😄

    @vampiress I was a big fan of his, he was my favorite film critic, but he was completely off base with his hatred for video games.
