To not be aggressively building tens of millions of additional housing units in every city in the global north and opening all borders is to be directly and actively planning the biggest genocide in human history.

Anyone pro national borders is a straight up genocidaire.

My favorite aspect of the Squamish development project has been all the racist howling from white boomers outraged that "indigenous" doesn't actually mean magical primitive park ranger. Every time they encounter indigenous urbanism, much less indigenous futurism or indigenous atheism they shake with entitled rage. The crimes of the hippies will take generations to undo, but at least they'll suffer a little.

What if there was a secret third option between being ravenous opportunistic piranhas and being steadfastly loyal to the patronage network you came up in. What if you could be charitable and not sweat the small stuff, but also refuse to pull your punches against shit like abuse and rape just because the perpetrators are your friends or a "respected elder."

We might, for lack of any known existing concept for such, invent a term and call this hypothetical third option being "principled."
