@nikatjef @pluralistic The year is 2024. We use diffusion models to generate captchas that are solved by multimodal transformer models, all for the purposes of ensuring only humans have access to a login form.

    @pluralistic Reminds me of when I decided to jump off Facebook. Never deleted my account (I doubt deletion actually works), but it's a decade out of date, deliberately.

    I never used TikTok either. For me, it's not "I can't switch platforms" but "I don't want another social media account, they're all garbage".

    Definitely curious to know where the kids are moving to and if I should follow them.

    @krupo @mainframed767 @pluralistic It's getting so bad that even mail gets reliably sent to spam. The few that do escape Gmail's spam filter have a really big and scary red banner saying "THIS LOOKS LIKE A PHISHING E-MAIL".
