@jfslicer @1dalm @bookstodon I loved this one too. And agree, just read it and let it unfold! It’s very unique.

Just finished 3 by and I gotta say I just love, love, LOVE this series. This 3rd volume remains a cozy with a little bit of action this time, but that action is used to force character growth on a lot of fronts. The comedy is still there (and it’s absolutely hilarious in parts) but I really love where the characters are going. And it’s open ended so I’m expecting a 4th! @bookstodon

Just finished “The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi” by SA Chakraborty and I absolutely LOVED it! It’s a funny, heartfelt, pirate adventure where our reluctant hero is a tall, middle aged, devout Muslim, single mother with a bad knee. Set in the 12th century it feels very present, with Amina both guiltily relishing and hating being forced out of retirement for one final adventure. And it’s a well-told adventure with an incredibly unique protagonist. @bookstodon

@bookstodon I’m at the pool and just finished “Uprooted” by Naomi Novik. I have two more days of holiday left, any #VacationReads recommendations? #bookstodon

@wendypalmer @bookstodon Thanks! I loved “A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking” and “Swordheart” but “Paladin’s Grace” wasn’t for me. Happy to try something new!
