Wow, a is now a gift of subscribers' social network details, not a benefit of having paid for a subscription. And we learn about this from the Free for All reader comment column.

When creating a gift link: "Anyone can access your gift article - no account required"? But buried at the end of the learn more link: "Gift article recipients will need to register for a Washington Post account.” Meaning the Post can determine (monetize?) gift givers’ social network. Sleazy.
