📝 A few of my notes and takeaways from Jaron Lanier’s book, "You Are Not a Gadget” (written in 2010).

• We care more for the abstractions we can create on top of individual expression rather than the individuals and their expressions
• Emphasizing artificial intelligence means de-emphasizing natural intelligence
• intelligence was a bottomless idea that transcended definition. But we've narrowed it to fit an abstraction in the computer.

📝 @davatron5000 wrote about how easy it is to go from zero to unmaintainable real quick which got me thinking.

You know the saying “the two best days in a boat owner’s life are the day they buy it and the day they sell it”?

Well the best two days in a web developer’s life are the day they scaffold a new website with the latest and greatest and the day they rewrite it.
