Today’s crazy:

I must have been making quite a fuss in my sleep last night - I was having a nightmare and kept feeling a dog nose on my hand. Turns out Lacie was trying to wake me up, and as soon as I woke up, she laid down and went back to sleep.

Then…

This afternoon, I took Lacie for a walk to do her business, which involves an elevator ride. On the way back up, she and I get on one of the 4 elevators by ourselves. I hit the button for our floor - many floors up. The elevator doors close and the car accelerates up, as normal. But then at the next floor, it suddenly stops - as goes from full motion to dead stop in an instant. We fly up and land hard. But the ride wasn’t done yet. Apparently the car was several feet above the floor (the one that I did NOT ask to stop at), and so the car free falls back down to the level of the floor - probably only 2 or 3 feet. Lacie is pretty distraught. The door opens. I stupidly assumed that wouldn’t happen again and press the button to close the door. And yep, it goes up one more and does the very same thing. But this time I was apparently expecting it, which was not a good thing and landed hard and hurt my knee.

I didn’t make that mistake again though.

I am hoping Lacie hasn’t developed a fear of elevators now.
