hemmes , to collapse of the old society in Outdoor clothing brands still using ‘forever chemicals’ despite health risk
@hemmes@lemmy.world avatar

It's crazy they haven't banned them. 3M's forever chemicals are in every living thing on the planet, literally. Even if you never went near one of their factories or anything they produced, it's in you.

At first they knew it got into the blood of all living things. Now we have tests proving links to cancer, immunodeficiencies, obesity, and other health effects, but still no ban. Babies are born with forever chemicals in them - in fact babies drastically reduce the traces of the chemicals in their mothers because they absorb it during gestation. Farms have tested their horses and live stock, every. living. thing. Crazy.

Kind of like how 3M covered up that their forever chemicals have found their way into every living thing on the planet. You, me, your kids and loved ones, your pets...everything...has their forever chemicals. They bind to proteins in our blood causing a wide range of ailments (Cancer, immunodeficiency, obesity, and more).

And they knew the whole time. Continued to do it all for the greed.

So, yeah, it doesn't surprise me that oil companies will destroy the planet in a blind greed, a lust, for profits.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you. I guess I just resonate more with different meme styles then OP.

@hemmes@lemmy.world avatar

Maybe - but "memes" like this don't have the remix portion. It doesn't even really have the copy portion, because this is more like a repost - the OP didn't copy this tweet to make a similar but different point, they're just sharing a tweet on this Lemmy community. So by this definition, it's not really a meme.

If this were a meme, I'd be able to take it, change some key words while maintaining the general cadence, and a similar outcome with an alternate context. You can't really do that with this screenshot of a tweet.

Similar for me - 1Blocker and pi-hole at home. Then I also VPN to my home when outside to continue the pi-hole filter.

I also use iCloud relay with non-precise location.
