As we keep saying, the only way is down. Far less energy used and demanded.

There will be population decrease as a result of hitting the planetary limits, sooner rather than later.
As a strategy though, it is too slow and ignores the disproportionate material flows of the wealthier populations.
The problem isn't population but the economic motor of accumulation.
