A Reform campaigner calls Rishi Sunak "a fucking Paki".

Every time Sunak is presented with an opportunity to make himself an important historical figure by moving the dial on race in this country, he ducks it.

You cannot have "legal" migration without "illegal" migration.

Every time a rich Western country like the UK cherrypicks the doctors, nurses, dentists from a poor African country "to save the NHS", they leave thousands of other Africans without basic healthcare.

And then we act surprised when they get on boats or cross deserts to come where the doctors are?

What would you do?

Today, somewhere in the world, an idiot drove to work, forgot that he took the car, and at the end of the day, walked home. That idiot later panicked when he saw that the car wasn't in the garage, thinking it had been stolen.

I'll give you 8 billion guesses as to who that fool is, but you'll only need one.

As it's month, we've received an email at work saying we need to embody the values of Pride.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an expert on the subject, but I thought it had something to do with LGBTQ+. Funny how that's not mentioned anywhere.

What is that accent that the new Doctor Who has? I know the actor is Scottish, but it's not Scottish. His parents are Rwandan, but I don't think it's Rwandan. It's weird (to me, at least)

I was listening to a BBC history podcast about Congo. The presenter described the mansion that the dictator Mobutu Sese Seko built in his hometown, with its marble floors and high ceilings. "Built from wealth plundered from his country," the presenter said.

And it's true. Mobutu was a thief. But I'd like to take the presenter one day to show him Buckingham Palace. Or Windsor Castle. That didn't come from the royal family saving their pennies.

I've been trying to put together my thoughts on "" and how we're blind to the bias we live with, but keenly aware of any changes to it.

AI has always been biased; when I posted months ago about Dall-E refusing to generate images of Black doctors no one seemed that shocked. But when overcorrects when trying to deal with the problem there's global outrage?

Yes, AI must improve. But I suspect that users need to too. Maybe we need to recognise that expecting a single text field to satisfy all our needs - from diagnosing Alzheimer's to generating videos of purple puppies - is asking too much. It'll never do anything perfectly.

Maybe I need to explicitly ask for "White" Nazis. But I should be able to ask for "Black" doctors and get results.
