    I think the sight of a naked person pales in comparison to more attention-worthy dangers children face: surveillance, stigma rejection of LGBTQ+ identity, guns, getting hit by cars, and I wish we could reliably have conversations on those things every year, just as consistently as Pride. I can't help but feel we are having this conversation because right-wing culture warriors made it salient, and not because it is a worthy discussion unto itself (it is).

    That said, while sexual liberation is a core component for Pride that people need to accept, I also think some folks use that to assume "anything goes." Many movements and demonstrations try to create standards of behavior, which has always been controversial, but I tend to think they are ultimately necesary to keep people from corrupting or hijacking the main message.
