its funny that 🔞 is the accepted symbol for "adults only" without cultural context it just looks like "fuck the number 18 in particular"

Joking aside, it's always seemed really silly to me for these exact reasons. Either someone's following is small enough that they can take the time to block accounts they don't want following them or big enough that it's not worth the effort.
