I like free software, noisy music and dad jokes. I work at the Python Software Foundation but toots are my own. (she/her)

@lowqualityfacts I feel like this is actually a high quality fact.

the whole country's gonna get soooo many lectures about "political violence" from the people who think all of society will crumble if the cops don't beat the shit out of black teens and homeless people every day of the week

@saddestrobots It is also shaping up to be one of those times where people in the US who "know a few things about guns" step up to their self-appointed podium to deliver their thoughts. :blobtired:

@sollat @courtcan Ah, we have some great shared 5+ authors that I hadn't thought about in a minute (eg Connie Willis, Garth Nix, Charlie Stross and William Gibson.)

Looking for book recommendations for female and queer sci-fi and fantasy authors. Especially classic ones (pre 80s), but I know they aren’t as prominent then.

@deinol Some older less well-known reccs that you may enjoy; Sam Delaney's books span both the fantasy and scifi genre, Joan Vinge's Snow Queen Cycle (epic fantasy), Melissa Scott's Trouble and Her Friends (early queer cyberpunk) or Pat Cadigan's Synners, or Mindplayers (also cyberpunk) and Jewelle Gomez's Gilda Stories (big sweeping lesbian vampire stories.)
