I found a bug in writefreely (used on infosec.press) that prevents blogs from being displayed in certain circumstances. The issue has to do with, of all things, capitalization.

I need to start learning again after my brain has atrophied so I can go find a new job. Ideas on what to study?

@jerry what about a fractional CISO role? There are lots of hospitals that really need a first class CISO but can’t afford one full time.

FYI, I was a CFO for a bunch of years. Went fractional and I will never work full time for a single company ever again. Just make sure you set your own guidelines on the orgs/people you will work with. Mine are: must be interesting, must be fun, and must be with a company/org I am proud to be associated with. (FYI, it is really fun telling powerful people NO).

@jerry Would you be interested in a startup?? I have a startup idea aimed at helping hospitals protect themselves from ransomeware (think low cost NOC/CISO in a box). But while I could help get it funded and I like the idea if helping small rural hospitals survive, I don’t have the technical chops to make it work.

If interested, let me know. Happy to give you the concept, and help if you want.
