Again, ops teams usually work way overtime. California is special because we don't really have an overlapping working time with Asia or EU. This means we either have to not work a regular 9-5 time zone or the company is going to have to open a bunch of positions to make up for the difference.

Hot take is I don't think anyone should care about Aaron Swartz. He didn't do anything for Reddit in the merger and left without doing anything for Reddit so who cares. He then died being a martyr for a cause barely anyone cares about and his death didn't inspire any change to education publication/copyright. Nobody should care.

A lot of homeless people choose to be homeless. I remember I was talking to a homeless in downtown Los Angeles and he told me he used to be a housing contractor and was a millionaire. He said he preferred the street because he likes the drugs and likes to harass women with impunity. I was also told by other homeless that they don't like the housing projects and prefer being outside.

Edit: you can downvote me all you want but this is my experience. Sure there are many that want to be in homes but they also want no strings attached honestly for free like if they are babies.

NIMBY. The real culprit is the housing crisis. Build more homes, reduce prices of homes and people can stay. You can't just make shelters and hope these people get on their 2 feet if everyone is struggling.

As for the choice thing, I was being a bit hyperbolic but there are some people who really do choose to be outside of a shelter. These are either addicted or mentally unstable people.

I don't understand why you guys are trying to educate me on how Bytedance operates. It's the same as how Weixin and WeChat work. China wants to moderate and curate Douyin but you guys still expect China not to get involved in Tik Tok. Sure it's content is different but it's literally the same thing with the same backdoor accessibility. Anyone that argues 'bit China do good seeeeee' is obviously masking their love for the red boot flavor.

I remember I spoke with the professor at UCSD working on this eTPU alternative to regular PUR this article is referencing a few years back. He was frothing at the mouth of selling this as a product as he was eager to talk with big companies to sell the research, it turned me off 100%. I asked if it decomposes just as well anaerobically and he said it's not intended to be used outside of composting scenarios. It also has little shelf life and more hygroscopic which reduces use performance over time. So there we have it. Another green wash situation. Your composter is NOT going to accept this when they see it x10000000

Sending plastic to the landfill that doesn't decompose anaerobically is essentially the same as sending regular plastic. Also, using shitty material that has a shorter shelf life also means it allows for planned obsolescence for items you wouldn't have thought was possible. For instance that can allow companies to put best use by dates on a refrigerator, home insulation, soles on shoes etc. For single use items it would make it so stock would be thrown out if not consumed more frequently. We would end up sending even more plastic to the landfills.

You seem to underestimate the gang problem. I was in Ilobasco a few years ago and my family that lives there urged me not to go outside past 7pm because I can be a target or even kidnapped. Like wtf why do the gangs get to dictate curfew in 2017? Past nightfall you have to turn the lights off so people in the streets can't peek into your house through the metal guard rails on all the windows. It was eye opening to say the least. Since Nuevas Ideas I have only heard good things and good changes to the area from my family. There were so many people associated to the gangs that I have little sympathy for those 'innocently accused'. I would rather a few loosely incorporated get caught than let the gangs do what they want freely.
