A system of government where the country's wealth is concentrated into a small, ruling class of billionaires, who use the media they own to keep the lower classes fighting with each other while they . . . the rich . . . run off with all the farking money.

Oh wait. that's capitalism. I don't know how I got those two systems confused.

The biggest advantage of an unpiloted jet is that it can pull far more G forces. If your aircraft can make a 12G turn when most humans pilots start blacking out at 9, you're going to win any dogfight.

The entire point of the Fedi-verse is so that one person or small group of people can't ruin the entire platform for everyone else. Anyone who tells you how to moderate your content, backed up by a threat can screw off.

The pirates will simply move to another Lemmy Instance and re-create the group there. This is the advantage of having a decentralized platform: so one person or small group of people can't ruin things for the rest of us.

Yeah. Sure. Right. Musk will sell Intelligence to ANYONE who pays for it and US taxpayers will foot the entire bill for constructing the satellite network.

And then all the contractors and politicians will all pretend to be surprised by this and Musk will get the finger-wagging of a lifetime.

Lead paint was banned in the U.S. in 1978 because of its toxicity. This stuff can and will kill you.

Conservatives need to stop treating every deadly poison like a "who can chug the most beer contest." This isn't a game (unless you're a company seeking to bypass lead restrictions, in which case it's totally a game to YOU).

California’s minimum wage is $16 per hour. Starting April 1, most fast-food restaurants must pay their workers at least $20 an hour under new legislation that Newsom signed last year, **but it does not apply to restaurants that have on-site bakeries and sell bread as a stand-alone menu item, **The Associated Press reported.

Panera doesn't make jet engines, either. WTF does that have to do with wages?

This. Republicans and Democrats have been moving steadily to the right for the last 40 years. So now, Democrats are where Republicans were in the 1980s: boring corporatists who are best friends of banks, insurance and pharmaceutical companies. We haven't had a real progressive president since Jimmy Carter and that was 50 years ago.

Meanwhile, the right has moved all the way into an insane asylum. Their best friends are Russian oligarchs, fascists, religious nutjobs and civil war re-enactors, who communicate on Twitter and "Truth Social" and call themselves "Republicans."

Republicans also want to bring back 19th century Company Towns. Then, they will fill them with obedient workers, who they can pay as little as they want and abuse as much as they like.

This is why they overturned Roe vs Wade and they're going after contraception next. They need citizen's to breed.
