Jewish Voice for Peace – A Sinister Extension of the Zionist Occupation Regime

Since May 2021 and The Unity Uprising, the public eye has majorly shifted towards the Palestinian cause with pro-Palestinian organizations taking the spotlight. Among the multitude of NGOs that managed to spearhead the narrative, Jewish Voice for Peace maintained a prominent and consistent leading position throughout. It still does. Perhaps it’s time to take a deeper look into JVP’s loyalties, code of conduct and purpose. Does it abide by the Thawabet (principles)?

What Is Jewish Voice for Peace?

Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) is a zionist-funded and facilitated organization with a knack for furthering dubious sentiments and uplifting zionist voices. It was founded by UC Berkeley students Julia Caplan, Rachel Eisner, and Julie Iny in 1996 in the San Francisco Bay Area. Since its initiation JVP has nurtured and sustained policies, ideologies, and objectives that wholly support the fascist colonial state of “israel” and its continued imperialist existence on indigenous Palestinian land.

In particular, JVP’s role has been to “normalize” the existence of israel while simultaneously reducing the Palestinian struggle for National Liberation to an abstract “human rights” based campaign that poses no threat to the zionist entity.

Hamas are not an organisation of ‘Islamic extremists’ comparable to the fascism of Islamic State/ Daesh, they are a national liberation struggle organisation. To not even engage with the justified resistance of the Palestinians against the imperialist genocide is to ignore the existence of the Palestinians themselves, an existence of resistance in the biggest open air and technologically advanced surveillance prison on this planet. Along with the ever present death from above, from the bullets of Israeli Defence Forces and the settler scum, we are witnessing the extermination of a people live streamed, live feeded, on social media and on smart phones!

Question the lies of the West and Israeli state. Bring the war home, into the heart of the Western metropoles!

Israeli press review: Female recruits detained after refusing to serve

Female recruits detained after refusing to serve

Dozens of Israeli female recruits who have refused to serve as observers in the aftermath of the 7 October attack have been detained and are facing harsh conditions, according to a report on Ynet on Wednesday.

The recruits reportedly refused to leave the recruitment centre and travel to the training base at the Border Protection School in Sayarim, Israel.

The Israeli army declared that it needs to "convince them to serve and explain how important the position is”.

Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari responded to the refusals at a daily briefing, saying: “We have a moral duty to repair what happened that day at the Nahal Oz when we failed to protect it. An observer is one of the most significant roles in the defence of Israel.”

Hagari was referring to the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October which resulted in the killing of 15 female observers and six being taken captive to Gaza.

The observers who survived the attack only did so by locking themselves in the base’s operation room.

In November, female observers from the base told Haaretz that they had warned the army several times about unusual activity along the border fence, but it went largely ignored.

The families of the observers have said that despite Israeli army claims that none of them were detained by the authorities, they were tried and are in prison, and have been treated disrespectfully.

A female soldier who was detained after refusing to serve as an observer, on medical grounds, told her family that it was a “shame and disgrace”.

She said she had “sent the army all the documents that show I have been medically diagnosed since the age of eight and I am being treated with medication… currently they are not listening to me at all, won’t let me meet a military officer and are simply throwing me in jail”.
