Today is a great day to remember that one of Mastodon’s best features is its filters.

If, for example, there’s discourse around a current political topic that is stressing you out, you can simply add a filter for keywords or hashtags. The filter can last for a set time or forever. You can choose where and how it’s filtered: do you want the post content warned or completely hidden? Every mention or just those on your timeline?

No need to suffer, just mute and move on.

@GottaLaff When I was a young teenager living overseas with my parents I used to babysit for a 15-yr old girl who had contracted measles when she was 5 years old. Mentally, she remained the age she was when she contracted the virus.
