tl;dr: French people voted 'yes' to a combination of Socialists, Greens, and left-wing Democracy, and 'no' to right-wing extremism and outright Fascism.

The mainstream media is tying themselves in knots as they try to spin the election results in France. They're using words like 'shock, 'chaos', 'turmoil', and 'unknown' to spread fear. They're saying no one party got an absolute majority. But, what they're not acknowledging is that coalitions are normal in democracies around the world that aren't derived from a Westminster two-party system. Rather than this being a win for Fascism as is appears many in the media were hoping, the Left has risen and saved Democracy in France, and chipped-away some of Emmanuel Macron's power as a consequence of him being a wishy-washy centrist.

After first-round voting, the people of France recognised the possibility of an unsavoury RWNJ outcome, so they turned-out to vote in the run-off elections.

On the left, the New Popular Front includes Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Socialist Party, and the Greens.

Emmanuel Macron and Gabriel Attal's Renaissance is in the centre, and includes the liberal Democratic Movement.

The third major group is the centre-right Republican Party. In the past, they had their time with people like Nicolas Sarkozy and Jacques Chirac.

Next is the National Rally, led by Marine Le Pen, and taking votes from the centre-right to promote Fascism.

Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, summarised the reaction around Europe: 'In Paris enthusiasm, in Moscow disappointment, in Kyiv relief. Enough to be happy in Warsaw.'
