It's technically vegan if the human consents and wants to be eaten.

I don't have any desire or curiosity to eat meat, human or animal, so I wouldn't partake. The added vore fetish sexual aspect is also really gross to me tbh.

Wow. New vegan power unlocked.

Aksamit , (edited ) to Ask Lemmy in Vegans of Lemmy, would you eat lab-grown meat?

As a vegan, I would not eat lab grown meat.

It's mainly a texture/concept thing, my food needs to be safe from disembodied muscle, fat, skin, cartilage, bone, minced meat containing the combined flesh of thousands of raped and tortured carcasses, the faecal matter and bacterial colonies all meat is covered with, and the horrifying possibility of meat containing hidden cysts full of pus, bits of hair, teeth, genitals, eyeballs, parasites, tumours, zoonotic diseases, prions, etc.

Lab grown flesh would hopefully be exponentially cleaner, and far less problematic than the current rape torture factories and abattoir system, but I will never be able to thematically seperate labgrown meat from what meat currently is, not enough to be able to put it in my mouth and chew it anyway.

Also, all sentient life (as we know it) is made of flesh. Lab growing billions of disembodied chunks from a handful of sentient animals? There is still deep horror to this. Granted it's on a completely different scale to the current system of livestock atrocities, but it's still horrifying none the less.

Why are you sexualising prepubescent children? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Aksamit , (edited ) to politics in New poll finds strong majority opposes gender-affirming care bans for trans minors
@Aksamit@slrpnk.net avatar

Are you stupid or a paedophile?

Gender presentation isn't sexual.

Delaying puberty and living as the opposite gender for a few years during childhood, isn't permanent and can be fully reversed if the child changes their mind.

People like you, who keep insisting on correlating prepubescent children's gender presentation with sexual behaviour, are the permantly damaging danger to these children.

If you ever feel like you're going to harm a child because of these abhorrent sexual thoughts you're having, go to a police station or a hospital and beg them to be locked up and medicated.

Or do the honourable thing and save everyone the harm of having to interact with a paedophile. Nobody of value wants people who sexualise and hurt children in their society.

@Aksamit@slrpnk.net avatar

I don't understand what is so reprehensible about trans kids being able to socially transition to live as their chosen gender? Social transition is clothing and behaviour, not surgical or medical. If the kid doesn't like it, they tried it, found out for themselves, and can stop whenever they want.

And what is so evil about trans kids being able to choose to delay puberty till 18, so they can as legal adults, then decide if they want to safely medically and surgically transition, or not and go through the puberty of their birth gender?

Going through puberty in the wrong body causes unbelievable distress to many trans kids, leading to eating disorders, self harm, suicide, and a whole load of other awful mental and physical problems.

Why is safely alleviating harm to these children by allowing them to socially transition and delay puberty, a bad thing?

No trans child is getting surgery. Puberty blockers are safe and entierly reversible.

Gender affirming care has nothing to do with your disgusting paedophillic fantasies about children, and that you even correlate the two IS reprehensible and very telling of the type of person you are.

.

Intersex children (born with undefined anatomy) get operated on at doctors discretion from their birth onwards, but this isn't a conversation about that, however immoral and harrowing it is.

@Aksamit@slrpnk.net avatar

Minors aren't getting any surgeries.

Gender affirming care for trans kids involves seeing psychiatrists, social transitioning, and, if they're lucky, puberty blockers till they're old enough to decide whether they want to medically and surgically transition.

I think I'm going to need to find another resource to link as an explanation for the BOE, the rest of that site is giving misinformation vibes and fact checking that will take longer than I care to spend.
Thanks for pointing this out.

Which bit? I found nothing saying 18c by 2026 on the boe page. 1.6c by 2026 is there. And so is a sentence saying that altogether after the boe there could be as much as 18c rise in temp.

Scientists are on it. Everybody have HOPE! We can fix it! Carry on eating meat, recycling and having children, and just remember- DON'T LOOK UP! (And pay no attention to the rest of this comment.)

A huge amount of polar ice has melted this year
and a massive amount of carbon has been released into the atmosphere from the wildfires
, on top of the huge amounts from industrial pollution.

More carbon in the atmosphere means more heat in the next few years.

5 more years as hot as 2023, and we'll have less than 100,000 sq km of polar ice left, the oceans will be absorbing the massive amounts of solar radiation that the ice had previously reflected, and will start releasing massive amounts of methane clathrate from the sea floor. This is called the Blue Ocean Event. And is also known as the Clathrate Gun Hypothesis.

To add to all this terribly offensive fearmongering:
There are over 8 billion people on earth and global fresh water reserves will be 40% over capacity by 2030, and 90% of global top soil and arable land is 'at risk' of depletion by 2050. ('At risk' is in quotes to highlight it's a conservative estimate from the UN.)

.

If anyone does actually have proper scientific evidence that there is reasonable cause for hope in our ability to 'fix' climate change, I'm all ears and would very much appreciate it, because from where I'm sitting it just looks like if magically the blue ocean event and clathrate gun don't go off and end us first, the drought and famine will shortly after.

Women being referred to as 'females' makes my skin crawl. I have only encountered this term being used by men who objectify and dehumanise women.
